"I have never heard a politician say "IslamISM."

Reader comment on item: Radical Islam creates terrorism

Congratulations to Ted Cruz on his appointment of Frank Gaffney Jr. and The Center for Security Policy as National Security Advisors.
On March 6, I sadly said; "I have never heard a politician say "IslamISM." It is our single most critical national security threat and it hasn't been said in eleven debates." Since then, Ted Cruz has appointed Frank Gaffney Jr. and The Center for Security Policy as National Security Advisors. They are experts in "‪#‎IslamISM‬" and ‪#‎Jihadist‬ Terrorism.

That has clearly been a game changer. Ted Cruz appeared on the CBS This Morning show and was being drilled about his comments to patrol Muslim communities. Ted Cruz clobbered Gayle King with his newfound expertise and correctly pointed out that "IslamISM" is different than Islam and he wasn't painting with a broad brush.

Not only did Ted Cruz pick the best team of advisors, he is listening to them and using this newfound education with a noticeable expertise. I am hoping that Ted will recognize the importance of this issue and make it his number one priority.
Ted Cruz, because of Frank Gaffney Jr. knows that Islamism is not all of Islam and not all Muslims are IslamISTS. In order for Islam to exist as religion in America, it must separate the religion from the political ideology of IslamISM, and the militaristic effort to force Islamism on the world of Jihadism. Islamism and Sharia Law are completely incompatible with Freedom, Democracy, and Liberty, or any other government.
Ted Cruz will now be able to separate peaceful religious Muslims practicing their peaceful religion of Islam from terrorists following their political ideology of ISLAMISM which is a NATIONAL SECURITY NIGHTMARE.

Words matter and Ted Cruz is empowered by this new understanding.
