Temple Mount Mess
Reader comment on item: Nightmare on Temple Mount

Submitted by Ward Smith (United States), Sep 4, 2002 at 20:20

It could also complicate the war on Iraq, obstruct the war on terrorism and jump the price of oil and gas. At worst, it could unleash an end-of-days messianism in three monotheistic religions, with unforeseeable consequences.

Mr. Pipes, thank your for bringing the issue of the Temple Mount to light. I saw a story posted or two on a website last week. That got a day's worth of attention, then dropped.

YOU are the only one to mention the destruction of Solomon's Stables and I thank you for it. However, you neglected to note that those in charge of the Temple are also destroying Israel's claim to the site. Not only does the excavationcause structrual damage, it destroys the culture. The JEWISH CULTURE.

I can see it now: The temple will fall, killing many. The Palestinians, as always will blame the Jews killing innocent peole while they worshipped. War will ensure. A quick, but horrible one the remainder of the Temple will be destroyed. During mopp up operations, the THIRD TEMPLE will be underconstruction.

I am a Christian, but not a Bible thumper. ..The "unforseeable consequences" can found in the Book of Revelation.

In all the vast elite think- tanks like CFR, has anybody ever stopped to think that this might all be true?

That this MIGHT BE a holy war? Or do leaders with their own messianic agenda want this all to happen; to see if this whole "religion" thing is real at all?

Let's face it: Man has not been able to bring peace to the middle east. Some say, jokingly ' It will take an act of God." ..

Ward Smith
