never again with a Moroccan, North African, or a Muslim manReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Never again (United States), Dec 17, 2015 at 11:34 Hi Ladies, I totally forgot to mention a few more things. The Moroccan man I met was very charming, sweet, and quiet. In fact, I found it flattering that I was his "first girlfriend, first kiss, first everything." And, he was AMAZING in bed, my goodness these man have a lot of stamina. I give him that, but SEX is not the only ingredient to make a long term relationship work. As an educated young woman I'm am surprised that I allowed myself to get into this. We could never have an intelligent conversation because he didn't know how to communicate. We tried to work this out in counseling, but it never worked. When I asked him to speak in Arabic or Moroccan (for me to practice) he refused. In fact, at one point he told me that he didn't want me to learn Arabic. And, he also refused to help me practice my French. Is it an easy process to walk away from this? NO. Do I still have feelings for him? Yes, we had some good times, but with time I know I will heal and he will heal. It's not his fault that his culture is very different from mine and that our upbringings were are very different. For example, in his culture men are not allowed to help in the kitchen, but I found it adorable when he would come over my house and he would help me cook or wash the dishes. I also could not hug him around his family or parents and that is something that I could never adjust to. I am extremely affectionate and felt rejected when he would push me away in front of his family. Is it fair to make generalizations? No. But I can tell you that I tried to be open minded and tolerant. I have traveled extensively. In fact, I've lived in Europe with a North African family in the past and I have also lived in the Middle East. I have seen everything and I will admit that I was deceived into thinking that this man would somehow be different. Our religions are also very different. In Islam, unless one is a Muslim, you are an infidel/apostate and one cannot get into heaven. It's also based on good works and it's never ending. I admired that he was sincere about following God, but I could never convert to Islam. I had him watch Nabeel Qureshi's testimony, of why he left Islam, not to convert him, but to help him understand him why I could never convert to Islam. I pray for him and wish him all the best.
