Jihad

Excelllent synopsis of jihad, something the general public hears much of and understands little.

I am curious about "Islamist" and "Muslim." The terms seem to be used interchangeably in most books and articles, but you seem to make a distinction in the phrase "........salvation of Muslims and Islam." How did these words originate, and do they mean the same thing?
