Bales, M.D. (United States), May 31, 2005 at 20:48 For some Muslims, jihad may indeed be an inner and personal struggle or battle, but the jihadists on the world stage now it is an external struggle. They may call it defensive, but it is not. It is blatantly offensive. In my view, it cannot be contained by diplomats, and, especially, not by the ineffectual and corrupt UN. It can only be defeated by a determined and persistent and unrelenting active opposition by military, economic, cultural, informational, financial, intelligent and any other means that can be thought up. I perceive it to last many years.
