You are very braveReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by If it's too good to be true chances are, it is (Australia), Aug 17, 2015 at 23:47 From personal experience, I have known many muslim men who have married westerners, frankly though the same patterns seem to occur throughout them all. Western women fall in love quickly, get married but when they have their first child in all cases that I am aware of personally, the man takes the child and leaves the wife. Of course this is relative to what I have seen and experienced(thankfully not personally) and you could happen to have the exception to these stories and end up with the perfect ideal husband. Culture and the way you are brought up impact greatly on how you perceive things in life. You may even reason that being in love means taking risk which you might be a risk you are willing to take, though that would be naive into thinking this way and making your decision purely on the basis of your feelings and emotions since these concepts can change rapidly and often. Age should not have an impact on your relationship(unless it is with a minor) but in saying this, it does bring into question the authenticity and motivation behind the marriage(of course there is not always an alternate motivation). If you think about it in terms of your current situation(assuming that you are still 40 though realistically are not anymore), when you turn 60 he will be 40. As you become less mobile and more dependent on your spouse for support(by no way indicating you are a completely immobile and disabled due to age) would you be able to understand and live with yourself if he left you for a younger woman? Of course at sometime you may have pondered across this already but you of course seem ample enough to weigh these consequences. There are alot more factors to take into consideration of course but it will take far more than just a mere "comment" to address those arguments either for or against your dilemma. This is obviously a bias case against the marriage but I am assuming that you have already come up with enough arguments for marrying him as you are considering the option at all. I am neither for or against the notion as whilst I believe in the cons of marrying this individual, it is important not to make your decision based on stereotypes and prejudice arguments. Since while he is in a culture which seem to be feared and gained many negative sterotypes he is still an individual with his own thought processes and beliefs contrary to what anyone has to say, only you have been in personal contact with the individual, therefore you reason through it. Just as long as you are aware of BOTH the positives and negatives and make a reasonably logic decision, then there should be no room for you to later come on this forum and sulk about your decision later be it you regret leaving him or marrying him. In saying this, I do wish you with utmost happiness on your future endeavours and hope you nothing but the best.
