, I would disagree with your analysis (EMP etc) in the sense that those are very low probability worst case scenarios that Iran could in any case inflict on the US even under current sanctions if it so chose. If Iran's sole objective was to kill 90% of Americans in one year then they would have gone about that objective in a very low key way. Trying to get sanctions lifted seems like a pointless goal for a country that wants to kill 90% of Americans when they are likely so close to a breakout. There is no need for "Death to America" chants if they had such a nefarious goal. How often did the 9/11 hijackers chant death to America before they carried out their murderous scheme? It is not how evil operates.

The Iranian regime feels very much like a secular but rogue dictatorship that cares more about self preservation than apocalyptic goals. We have ISIS and the rest of the middle east for truly scary goals.
