Yes, it is God, Who's day they will make

Reader comment on item: Today's Iran Debate Misses the Point
in response to reader comment: Isaiah 13:6; Make MY Day, says the Eternal Sovereign of Israel

Hi, Tovey

You and I seem to be having an exchange lately, discussing how far we are from the fulfillment of certain Biblical prophecies. An example is your comment,

"...what's next? Actually, from certain perspectives, that is simply answered here; the real showdown."

and

"All of the Arabic uprisings commencing from e Cairo 2009 speech have led up to bringing the critical mass of the Islamic revolution to its inevitable conclusion. Since they will not be able to agree to disagree, they will continue on their path to the place designated for all to have their part in the final clash, in Israel's backyard."

"THE" final clash? I don't think so, if you are referring to the beginning of the Messianic Age. All this Islamie stuff certainly is leading up to a climax, which I believe is a Turkish-led attack on Israel a la Ezekiel 38-39. There is much more to come after than; though it may be only a few years after that (at least seven years, according to Ezekiel). Here are two predictions of min:

1. The final confrontation against Israel will not be led by Islamists. The Bible does not predict such a thing; but even non-Biblical scholars must realize that the whole Islamic world, taken together, is not as powerful as Western Europe -- which, in turn, is less than half as powerful as the US. Besides this, both the Russians and Chinese are more powerful as the whole Turkey-Iran-Sudan-Libya coalition mentioned in Ezekiel 38-39.

2. The Islamists have a baseless pipe dream of world denomination, and a more realistic hope of regional domination; and they certainly have a beef with God as well. God has a beef with mankind as a whole, though: It isn't a group of Islamic theologians who publicly questioned, 50 years ago, whether God is indeed alive: It was the Scottish theologian, William Hamilton; and he published his musings in the popular US publication Time. It was also not Islamists who conspired to ban prayer in US public schools. There is a contention against God that will not be settled with the defeat of the Islamists. The "Final Battle", therefore, pits the entire world against Israel (Zech 14), not just the Islamic countries. The lines of this battle have been drawing up in the UN since long before the Islamic states rose to any prominence One of these days, some time after the Turkish attack, the US will abandon Israel in the Security Council, and the United Goiim will proceed to censure, sanction, and finally attack Israel. They will lose, and be destroyed as nations -- the US as well as the others.

You seem to be similarly speaking of a split timetable, when you say,

This will come as the preliminaries with the likes of al-Qaeda, ISIS/ISIL/IS, all of the Iranian proxies take their parting shots, after which the UN loses it and declares Israel must bear the brunt for world peace.

In this, I agree wholeheartedly with you. You continued,

"So, when we read, 'make my day,' Isaiah 13:6 comes to the forefront and we see that is it not Israel who is saying it: but her Eternal Sovereign is about to make HIS point clear to all who have thought they could changes the plans of the Almighty (Psalm 2:4; Psalm 59:8)."

Yes, the conflict is between God and unbelieving humanity; Israel is just caught in the middle. Even so, they are well-armed.

Shalom shalom
