The sad fact about the CAIR report is that its contents, like the contents of the retracted Newsweek report, are not out of the realm of believability for most of the American public. Most Americans, feel very bad for any minority suffering from prejudicial mistreatment. Americans boldly admit racism is an insidious part of their society. Yet, there are a few denizens among most minority groups that exploit the plight of their people for political and monetary gain. Does CAIR have an anti-American agenda that goes beyond acceptable means of dissent? Dissent against the government must be based on facts. Creating facts to make a predetermined point about the real problem of racism in America is counterproductive. Overstating a real problem, like the unjust treatment of Muslim Americans, may have unintended consequences.
