General Patton use to say that he believed in negotiations, but only after you have killed so many on the other side that it is easy to negotiate successfully. I have a feeling the same philosophy applies here.
First of all forget about winning hearts, we cannot get them and we do not need them. The lessons from both Israel and Iraq are that the best way to win minds is to kill as many of the Islamo-terrorists on the battlefield as you can. Then the Palestinians and the Sunnis will understand that there only chance of survival is to live with the hated Jews, Kurds and Shias. It is wonderful how this will focus the mind.
