US engaged in promoting moderate IslamReader comment on item: Washington Finally Gets It on Radical Islam Submitted by Jacob (United States), Apr 26, 2005 at 17:28 I understand and support the need to beef up the moderate Muslim organizations that endorse American democracy and its values of cultural and religious diversity and rights of women and minorities. For these reasons, I see the benefit of establishing or funding radio stations broadcasting such views in parts of the world where radical Islam breeds terrorism.I have serious reservation on constitutional grounds about using federal tax dollars that go to constructing religious sites or institutions in such countries. The government is doing something abroad it cannot get away with domestically. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
