Are the so called facts relative??

Reader comment on item: Pushing for a Ceasefire

Submitted by Bertan Atalay (Canada), Jul 20, 2014 at 09:35

Mr. Pipes uses the word "alleged" when he refers to the number of dead. Why doesn't he use the same adjective to his allegations against what he calls his facts about any and all things in this conflict. For example, his claim that "[Palestinians] protecting their weapons with their bear bodies." I personally would love to hear more indisputable facts.

Daniel Pipes replies:

I used "alleged" concerning Gazan injuries and fatalities because I do not consider Hamas, a known terrorist organization, to be a reliable source.
