The Conservatives Went Off-Campus

Reader comment on item: Conservative Professors, an Endangered Species

Submitted by Theodore D, Kemper (United States), Apr 12, 2005 at 20:10

Although present-day US faculties are liberal to left, they seem to have little influence on their products, whose politics are center to conservative for the most part.

As for why there are few conservative faculty, they chose not to go to graduate school but to law school and business school and into the State Department, the CIA and the FBI, etc. where they direct and misdirect the policies that upset liberals and leftists. Why not look at those agencies for how many liberals and leftists are placed there. I am willing to wager the bias against liberals is at least as substantial as the bias against conservatives is on campus.
