I support Israel, but think academic bias is nonsense

I am constantly annoyed by the choices available to me as an Israel supporter. On the one hand, there are people like Pipes who I generally agree with on advocacy for Israel. However, I find people like Horowitz totally intolerable. What are my choices? align with left wing crazies like Chomsky? Obviously not.

Horowitz came to my school. I tried to listen to him. He provided a barrage of inflammatory ad hominems, unsubstantiated claims, and useless invective.

Paul Krugman in a recent column argued that the hypothesis of self selection is more likely than widespread corruption in explaining the left wing tilt in academe. I have yet to hear a counterargument to this, and Pipes' column on the issue doesn't offer one, in my opinion.

Again - I support all of the work by Pipes on advocacy and defense of Israel, but am more likely to find solace in Krugman's work on virtually all issues than the right.
