back in the 18th century

Reader comment on item: No Longer Banned in the British Library!

The British Library's reading room is actually my favorite spot in all of London. I feel this way because it is probably the only quiet refuge in the city. The silence along with the leather desktops take one back into the 18th century. Back to a time when words like smoothwall, algorithm, software did not exist, had no meaning. I have a feeling these words have no more meaning today.
