Sue, we're only here to helpReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Lina (United Kingdom), Mar 11, 2014 at 09:28 Sue, I agree with you that generalisations shouldn't be made, and of course! there are many successful mixed relationships and many many decent muslic men... but most of the scenarios and relationships on here follow the same miserable pattern. Sue, when you're in a toxic relationship it often takes another person to tell you what's the deal is because you're so "drunk in love" that you can't think straight. I used to be like you and feel that Luigi had some kind of agenda, but that was back when I was a naive teenager and thought that love could overcome all. But you live and you learn, usually the hard way. Now that I'm older... while I'm still not against mixed relationships in any way.... I see that honestly, Luigi probably provides some of the most realistic advice on the blog. Not only because he's straight talking - a lot of posters are straight talking - but because he's a man. Men know exactly how each other's minds work, whether they're Egyptian, Moroccan or Swiss, they're honestly not all that different. Just like a woman knows how to tell when another woman is making a move on her man. It's not about muslim men, it's about men period. Although this blog deals specifically with muslim men. When a guy gets defensive over his girlfriend because another man is talking to her, it's because he knows what's going through his head, and that ultimately he's hoping to get some action. I can also add some valuable insight to the blog as I have North African relatives and have travelled extensively throughout the region, therefore I know "what's up" so to speak. Again, there are some successful mixed relationships, some that go on to produce healthy and happy offspring... but usually involve two mature, responsible and emotionally/financially stable individuals that understand and accept each other's needs and cultural differences. Most of the scenarios on here.... do NOT qualify...... and mostly involve a male and a female in equally dire conditions, be it emotionally or financially..... with the woman looking to escape her circumstances, and the man taking full advantage and participating in "bezness" (love in exchange for money, or advanced male prostitution). Most women (or men) on here know very little about their s/o's culture and know little to nothing about the density of religious differences. They're essentially like bait in a sea of sharks. I've dated muslim men of different nationalities here in LONDON, from lower class Asian to wealthy Middle Eastern men, and they've all ended up taking the same route, with the guy either trying to get money or sex. Is it because they're muslim? No. It's because a) they use religion as a crutch and b) they have no respect for "kafir" women, or women that date in the first place. Dating, to some of these guys, is equivalent to getting intimate, and this is just one of the major cultural differences. Most of the posters on here are decent people, Sue, and they've been burned and are therefore trying to prevent others from getting into the same situation. You're not going to get sweet talk..... a lot of the women on here have no support network, or circumstances that have led them these horrible situations to begin with.... so from experience PC sweet talking isn't going to work. No one is pointing any fingers, although some can go too far, but generally we're here to help, which is what I can assume you want seeing as you're on this blog in the first place.
