Reader comment on item: A Prof [Hamid Dabashi] Tangles the Truth

Submitted by Paul Rhoads (France), Apr 1, 2005 at 01:38

Dear Mr. Pipes,

I agree wholehartedly with you that:

a) the lies and slanders of these characters should be actively exposed.
b) your site and e-mail list are appropriate venues for such exposure.
c) it is good to give full details and and links.
d) that this is a serious matter with important consiquences for our real future.

But given that the arm you are using is rhetoric, if I were you--and I have been/am in a similar situation--I would alter my tactics somewhat. This, of course, is a personal matter. We do what comes naturally to us. Still, Dabashi's malignant hypocracy is surely so egregious that it could be squibed more neatly than in a somewhat ponderous series of 5 over-lapping points?

Paul Rhoads (your enthusiastic supporter)
