I agree with Dr. Pipes entirely when he compares radical Islam to such dangerous 20th Century ideologies as Fascism and Communism.
The West must develop a strategy -- I repeat, a STRATEGY, which is what we and especially Europe lack when it comes to facing the realities of the Arab/Muslim world -- to deal with this dangerous, expansionist movement.
It is perhaps more dangerous than fascism and communism not in the conventional military sense but rather in that its adherents are fanatical in an entirely different way: they are so irrational, so nihilistic, they could easily justify mass murder and even global armaggedon to satisfy their beliefs. Most fascists and communists, I suspect, didn't have enough faith in an afterlife to go that far.
