I am in agreement with you on all points except for one, which I think you keep repeating for political correctness, that is "Islam is not a problem, Interpretation of Islam is".
Islam is, following Quranic Instructions and copying of what prophet did in his life, available in hadeeses and Islamic history. The Quran teaches violence and intolerance in its final 27 Madina ayas and the prophet practised violence and intolerance in the last 10 years of his life, switching from his earlier tolerant and peaceuful teachings and practises of Mecca. The question of interpreting Quran does not arise because he acted on Quranic instructions himself to avoid the problem of interpretations.
You mentioned that one of the five goals of militant Muslims is intimidation of their critics like you, and it seems that they are succeeding to some extent.
