Rationale for Netanyahu's behavior

Reader comment on item: Is Netanyahu Turning Left?

Submitted by Arthur Cohn (United States), Jul 27, 2013 at 21:49

The only rationale for Netanyahu's behavior that I can perceive is that it is to minimize the Obama administration's interference with Israel's main current objective: The destruction of the Iranian N-bomb development! By conceding on all of the Obama administration's other foolish policies, maybe Obama won't interfere so hard if Israel decides to act against Iran. However, he should remember, as Chamberlain found out, appeasement to bullies doesn't usually work.

Daniel Pipes replies:

It occurred to me as well that this could be part of a larger deal concerning Iran. And while this cannot be logically excluded, it simply makes no sense.
