A Reply to AusterReader comment on item: [The Search for Moderate Islam:] A Reply to Lawrence Auster Submitted by Lowell Byrd (United States), Feb 18, 2005 at 05:16 Brother Pipes,I read with interest your reply to Auster. I also belong to 25/30 Islamic yahoo groups. In most of these groups, I find that Muslims do not actually know exaxctly what Islam is, how it is propagated, where it is going, as opposed to where the Qur'an dictates it to go, along with many other factions incorporated within the changing of Islam. I reference Islam's changing to Christianity and Judaism. The modern world has brought about a necessity for change in Islam. Re: Islamic women have been under thumb for centuries and they want, as well as need, change in Islamic societies; to include those in the free world: just as Christianity and Judaism has had to change. Of course, until all religions realize that people need the freedom to worship as each individual's need dictate, religions will have a strangle-hold on the peoples of any nation. The history of wars will tell the literate human just how devoid of humanity religions were and are. Thanks for reading.
