muslim american woman married to muslim older manReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Juliette (United States), Jan 2, 2013 at 17:11 Hi , i'v been reading this forum for about 5 years, just out of curiosity and to educate myself too. But never thought i would be in the position of writing on it. I am currently married to an older 37 y/o egyptian muslim man. He is a good hearted person but a lot i have experienced this 1 year i have been married i dont like at all, so therefore he has agreed to divorce me. A lot of what these women are saying are true to some point. I know my husband for almost 5 years and lied to me the first 3 years of talking to him, and also the first month of talking to me he wanted to marry me and told me how much he loved me, i was young and inexperienced with men and so stopped talking to him for 1 1/2 years and thought he was full of crap everytime he told me he loved me. about 2 years ago when i started to talk to him again something in me wanted to give him a chance, he was sooo charming. He is not the best looking and a little short but that didn't matter to me at all, what mattered was his character and his family relations. So i found out that he was married when his wife called me on my cell phone when she got into his cell , she told me to stay away from him and that he was going to leave her for me, and crying in her broken english. I immediately called him and told him about it, he apologized a lot and said he does not love his wife but he didn't want to divorce her because she would keep the kids from him and he was saying she was crazy and afraid for his kids. i really dont know the full truth anyways, another thing that bothered me, when i was in egypt after we married we were walking down the street looking at stores and he asks me out of the blue if i could "lend' him the money to buy something and he will pay me back when he gets money, i laughed and said i dont buy for men. maybe because i am a little old fashioned and i believe men should never ask women for money. 6 months after we married he found out that he can never get a spouse visa because he is already married and our laws prohibit that. After that he stopped completely talking to me. we went from talking 2 times a day seeing each other for 2 hours on cam every day to NOTHING, when i confronted him he said he was confused and wanted me to marry a man i can live with, and i said ok i will move to egypt to be together and his response? "no, i cannot give you any money to live" because all his money goes to his wife and kids. So the only conclusion i have come to was he was looking for an easy way into the US to get a better job to provide for his family, and when that didn't happen i was discarded like yesterdays trash. I am also a muslim woman , young and very attractive i'v been told so i know it's not the end of the world, i just feel soo used, emotionally, physically and mentally. I dont know where i can find a decent muslim man. Theres more to write i just dont have the strength to write more, thanks for reading!
