It seems Sadam Hussein kept claiming victory down to the day a bunch of US soldiers and their Kurdish allies pulled him out of his spider hole. And, losing the Sinai twice to the Israelis didn't seem to hurt Nasser one bit. It seems that we're dealing with a part of the world that lies loudly and boldly all the time, yet ends up fooling only itself.
