Lawrence Auster's analysis is superficial

Reader comment on item: [The Search for Moderate Islam:] A Reply to Lawrence Auster

Lawrence Auster has not read Daniel Pipes's work very well and his assessment is superficial. To allege that Daniel Pipes is making excuses for Islam is far from the truth. Daniel Pipes has identified the danger as being Militant Islam, which can be compared with fascism and communism. His book "Militant Islam Reaches America" explains the dangers of Militant Islam very well.

Not only failing to distinguish between Islam and Militant Islam is immoral, but it would lead us to certain defeat. In Europe, the fight against Militant Islam is left to far-right lunatics such as Jean-Marie Le Pen who cannot distinguish between the various kinds of Islam. THIS PEOPLE ARE ALL WORDS AND NO ACTION. I have got the impression that Lawrence Auster is like them.

Daniel Pipes represents a more moral and credible opponent of Militant Islam. A man like Daniel Pipes has found the key for dealing with Militant Islam and western governments should listen to him more.

Daniel Pipes respects the religion of Islam, but implacably opposes the ideology of Militant Islam. Lawrence Auster is as dangerous as liberals and his views can only favour Militant Islam and those liberals who are always screaming "racism" and "Islamophobia".
