Marrying a Muslim Man was a BIG Mistake for Christian WomanReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Anon (United States), Sep 21, 2012 at 21:58 When I first got married to a foreign man who was a peripheral Muslim and who did not practice going to the mosque or have a beard, I was excited. Years later I realized that these men get more religious as they get older. It was a horrible never-ending devolution into some crazy kind of backward time in history. I vow today that I will never date or marry outside of my religion. I embrace my Catholicism more than I ever did after being exposed to the religion of my ex which I found to be degrading to women, family and the children but women in particular. In the last months of our marriage, he continued bringing up his fantasy of having two wives. It was sickening knowing that millions of women who are practicing Muslims would lovingly accept this idea of not having an "ego" and sexually submitting themselves to the sexual desire of an already married man, it being OK in Islam. This was the last straw for me. Knowing that there is encouragement for women to acquiesce to the status of a sex object for a man and that whether United States law recognizes it or not, these women will go to the mosque and marry your Muslim husband and happily live "in the dark" knowing that their Holy Book blesses these illicit unions. They rationalize it by saying that through transcending their "ego" they embrace their sexualization and the man doing anything he wants with any woman he wants, they say that they transcend the opinions of others, especially the man's wife when she finds out that his Islamic counterpart is working in collusion to create and maintain a deceitful "second marriage" Suffice it to say that this was a learning experience not soon to be forgotten and I wanted to share it with my friends on Keen. I have enough of being curious about "multi-culturalism" I want to stick to my good old Catholic Church with the respect it gives women, men and the family unit. It seemed to me that the philosophy allowing and encouraging the Muslimahs to have no "ego" to be there whenever and wherever their man demanded them to be was antithetical to the principles of freedom, democracy and the basic tenets of human freedom. Interpret it as you want to, but to me that is being a slave. A slave has no rights to property or self determination and my now ex told me that when a Muslimah gets married she is expected to obey all tenets of her husband without regard to her own reason and must not leave the house without his permission. This not leaving the house without the permission of her husband is practiced by millions of Muslim women and men around the world. To each their own but I thank God I worship God and not the God they worship and it was a lesson well learned which I do not intend to repeat. Just sharing the info with any non-Muslim woman out there who may be curious about the other way of life out there. Submitting....
