Response to commenter Pat: which media do you read?Reader comment on item: Radical Islam's Hypocrisy[: The Ehrgott & Okashah Cases] Submitted by Peter J. Herz (Taiwan), Jan 18, 2005 at 19:44 Where are the moderate Muslims? They blog a lot, but I don't see the Mainstream Media giving them much coverage. Remember, See Bee Ess and the NYSlimes really would like Bush or any other Republican President to go down in ignominy, and don't care how many Americans of any persuasion, in uniform or out, go down with him. After all, CBS showed how apt its initials are during the 2004 campaign, in its now infamous Rathergate. Hence, pro-American or even non-violent Muslims just don't register with them.By the way, I'll also call your attention to the Uighur-American Association and Taklamakan.org. These groups are Uighur dissidents against Chinese rule who have found refuge in the USA. They are overwhelmingly Muslim, but I notice their sites have spoken up for persecuted Christians in the eastern and central provinces of China as well informing us of the plight of their own Old Country kin. BTW, I am a Christian fundamentalist, and don't hold a candle for Islam. But the commandments against murder, theft, and false witness protect Muslims as well as everyone else. Hence, I have a great deal of respect for Dr. Pipes' careful research and investigation. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
