Reader comment on item: Kenneth N. Waltz – The Stupidest Strategist?

Submitted by Pinchas Baram (United States), Jun 23, 2012 at 00:47

Kenneth Waltz, Roger Cohen Tom Friedman and NIcholas Kristoff at the NYT, Joe Klein at Time Mag.--- the long list continues. Their common thesis: Israel is THE problem-- because of, they allege, Netanyahu , or the "occupation" and settlements,, or the "apartheid" fence, or AIPAC, or Jewish obstinacy re undivided Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, or the militaristic IDF-- or now,the bugaboo of Israel's nuclear arms.

It's long been obvious that Obama was more worried about Israel launching a preemptive war than about Tehran's race to make a bomb, so --getting back to Walz-- his featured piece in FA is in effect an extension of the views of Obama and the Dept. of State. Indeed,he beltway establishment has long felt that in a cost/benefit analysis, Israel is a burden, and Walz' thesis just adds fodder to that idee fixe.

It's interesting and obvious, is it not, that many Jews (some well meaning, some mean spirited, typically super liberal and irreligious, but all basically traitorous to the Jewish People) are in the forefront of these attacks on Israel and in the multiple efforts worldwide to undermine, castrate and delegitmize it.

The title of a booklet by Prof. Steven Plaut (from the Univ. of Haifa) is apropos here: "Jewish Enablers of the War Against Israel."
