Reader comment on item: Stay out of the Syrian Morass

Submitted by mhloutsidebeltway (Italy), Jun 13, 2012 at 09:01

Your position on the Syrian is to be highly recommended. Far better to let our many enemies go on killing themselves than to select one side, which inevitably will be poised against us one day. What is deeply troubling is that key foreign policy advisors to Mitt Romney like Max Boot is strongly in favor of intervention in Syria. This is highly disappointing for those of us hoping for Hussein Obama's defeat. If the Republicans win will the pro-Arabist contingent among them once again hold the reins of power as they did to a certain extent in the second Bush government? How comforting it would be if Romney listened to Daniel's Pipes and gave Max the boot.
