No racism during Japanese internment?

Oh my goodness!
I am no knee-jerk liberal, but I can't BELIEVE what I am reading here! That the internment of Japanese-Americans during WWII was done solely for legitimate and logistical reasons? No way! Even if you don't believe that racism was a motive, you must at least admit that political gain was a huge motivation, just as it is now for racial profiling of Muslims. A paranoid and xenophobic American public needs to be comforted somehow by the politicians. As for why the Japanese were interned and not the Germans and Italians, the theories offered by Malkin and Pipes are quite inconvincing. Germans not as big a threat? There were German U-boats patrolling the east coast of the US, for God's sake! I mean, by this logic, we should've round up all white conservative guys after the Oklahoma City bombing! If we did things like that, we would simply cease to be America anymore.
