Pied Piper from Saudi Arabia writes :

" The State Dept. and Amnesty Intl. reports you quote make interesting not to say wacky reading but they are pure and laughable bunk.

I am not saying there are no "problems" in the KIngdom. But the way it's usually depicted by the Western press is far from reality and belongs more to the sphere of fiction and fantasy.<

Speaking of "bunk, fiction and fantasy", you have chosen a very symbolic nickname for yourself. It comes from German folk tales, doesn't it, where Pied Piper, an angry rat-catcher, lures with his flute the children away from their hometown Hamelin. They follow him, are led astray and perish. Very symbolic, isn't it? Whom do you consider rats and/or children here to lure away from the truth into the deadly deserts and dungeons of Saudistan's nasty despotism, medieval obscurantism and grim police state ?

Anyway, are you catching rats in Saudistan or doing other remunerative job there for which you are paid thrice or four times the amount you would be if you were doing the same thing in Germany ? I have met people like you. In Sweden a nurse told me that the Saudis lured her colleagues to work in Saudistan with a pay the women could not even aspire to working in such a rich state as Norway. The only problem was they were treated like filthy infidel pigs while in the kingdom unless they converted there to Islam.

I surmise that for renegades like you salary is everything that matters in this world ( I can't believe you're lying about the nature of the Saudi despotism for free ) and if the Devil paid you would be the first advocate of his virtue. Well, the Saudis are the closest analogy of the Devil I can imagine. That's my general impression of whom I am dealing with here.

The problem that arose between us who was exactly lying. I adduced the relevant documents of institutions that have no particular interest in denigrating Saudi Arabia, especially the State Department given the existing US-Saudi axis and a powerful Saudi lobby that protects the House of ibn Saud in exchange for Saudi oil and reinvestment of Saudi petrodollars back in the US. Even they are forced to call a spade a spade.

Now this dispute could be resolved by arbitrage, i.e. a third party. Whom did you quote except yourself, i.e. an interested party ? Do you believe that it is what arbitrage is about ?

> I won't deny that all the "misdeeds" listed may have occurred at one time or another in the Kingdom.....but they've also occurred (at one time or another) in the USA, let alone anywhere else. To deny that they have is simply an exercise in pie-in-the-sky wishful thinking.<

How many witches have been recently beheaded in the US ? How many people received 500 lashes for blasphemy ? Please, don't hesitate to share you vast knowledge on these "misdeeds" which you say have occurred in the US as well. And tell us also something on the activities of the Saudi Religion Police - Mutaween. Start from the school fire in Mecca in 2002 and the girls were forced back into the flames because they were not wearing the Islamically correct dresses.
