Reader comment on item: South Sudan, Israel's New Ally

Submitted by andres (South Korea), Feb 20, 2012 at 09:37

The slow creep of the Islamic influence over the past decade in the gullible and vulnerable African tribal populations is a scary evolution. Many poor villages enter a mosque built for them in order to receive food and are then converted. This would not be a problem if then the Islamic ideologues came in and ran for political office, started civil wars and massacred innocent villagers. It is happening in most of Africa today and it is at least encouraging that there is one small area, fighting against all odds in South Sudan, that is overcoming this troubling trend.
