NATO and TurkeyReader comment on item: Turkey Out of NATO: Other Voices Submitted by nancy (South Korea), Feb 6, 2012 at 04:49 NATO should institute a basic set of guidelines or requirements for participation, including records of human rights, religious and gender freedom. No country should be given the privilege of participation in a civilised treaty if they do not treat their citizens with civility. But, given the ludicrous fact that the UN councils have been chaired by naions who scoff at what they stand for, it is not something one should expect anytime in this lifetime.
