Fear the FJP much more than the Salafis

Reader comment on item: Don't Ignore Electoral Fraud in Egypt

Well, I'm Egyptian, Mr Pipes, and I find that the supposed rigging of the elections is greatly overestimated.

One can see clearly in Egypt that most of the people one knew chose the Islamists, especially the FJP. They are highly organized, using religion as propaganda in a generally conservative population; they doled out money, clothes, food, etc.; they have a wide background in the street--in fact, it would have been a fraud if they haven't gained this percentage.

The SCAF may have made deals with them, but that denotes only how much they are present in the street among the common people.

Unfortunately, most of the Egyptians nowadays are Islamists. Someday they will be almost all.

About the Freedom and Justice Party (the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood), I think these people are much, much more dangerous than the apparently more stern and strict Salafi Muslims. The Muslim Brotherhood are very organized and ambitious, cagey and intelligent. Their aim is Islamic dominance over the whole world; they are very expansionist. They are seasoned politicians and know how to win. These are the people you should be afraid of, rather than the foolish, more-or-less straightforward Salafi Muslims, most of whom are simple traders or clergymen and have no means of expansion.

In a recent interview with Mahdy Akef (former Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood), he said Allah had ordered Muslims to care very much about science, especially military science, for jihad. He criticized Salafi Muslims for being so simple and complacent. He said "we would like to invade the space" while Salafi Muslims all what they cared about was selling gelbabs, clogs, suit-buttoms and incense. He also talked about the Khelafa.

If the Salafis are Taliban, the FJP would be The Third Reich. Believe me, the Muslim Brotherhood bear much resemblance to the Nazis than you might imagine.
