Christmas every day in TurkeyReader comment on item: [The Need to Name and] Know Thy Terrorists Submitted by Michelle Kalpakci (Turkey), Dec 21, 2004 at 05:17 I live in Istanbul Turkey and I have people everyday telling me Merry Christmas. Keep in mind that this is an Islamic country. I have a Christmas tree.... We will go to church on Christmas Eve... We will have Christmas dinner. Don't lump Turkey in with other countries. Saying that Islamic countries are not allowed to acknowledge other religious holidays is ridiculous... Before I moved here I had no idea about their religion so why would they know all about ours? My husband is Turkish and I take offense ...Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
