It is time to re-think "human rights"Reader comment on item: [The Boim Trial:] Exploiting the Koran to Terrorize Submitted by Octavio Johanson (Italy), Dec 18, 2004 at 09:33 Dear Mr. Pipes,I am writing from Europe where extremist Middle-Eastern organizations are very strong. Let me give some advice to our American friends. Don't follow Europe's foot-steps -- avoid our errors. Our main error was to be obsessed with "human rights," but we forgot to consider ALL people's rights. North-Americans shall deal with Middle-Eastern assassins in a different way from our own. Don't be afraid to arrest them, take their money and close down their organizations. Don't allow Middle-East extremism to flourish in your back-yard. Don't engage in pointless discussion about "terrorists vs freedom-fighters". If an organization supports Middle-East extremism, then it shall be shut down. If Middle-Eastern immigrants are found to be anti-Semitic, then they should be sent back.
