You are very good.Just a thought though about your first recommendation -- "Support states that contain Islamists and encourage them to do so. Keeping Islamists out of power is in their interest and in ours." This seems unwise. Perhaps the opposite may achieve better results. Free and open forums will balance out the Islamists. As long as the government protects people and allows them to speak freely, the voice of reason will prevail. By containing islamists, the explosion is just going to get bigger.
