Reader comment on item: Egypt's Military Holds onto Power
in response to reader comment: new superpower

Submitted by Nelson D'Silva (India), Jul 19, 2011 at 21:29

By removing Hosni Mubarak from power what has been achieved by the Western powers? Just as all sensible people did not like the idea of Obama arm twisting Natanyahu and treating him with disdain with the sole objective of aiding Livni and Barak to grab power, so, too, many did not appreciate the hype built up in the West by the media and politicians that were instrumental in fomenting the so called Arab Spring.

Today the Middle East is in turmoil and seems to be spinning out of control merely because of the instability engineered by some immature thinking Western politicians that couldn't bear the thought of dealing with Middle Eastern politicians that didn't want to tow their line. Just as the West is responsible for creating a monstrous Iran that has a death wish for the world, it has now sown the seeds chaos in Egypt, Libya and Tunisia; has alienated moderate Arab States; and will soon be having an Iran like situation in Turkey where an erratic leader has been entertaining a megalomaniac idea of creating a Sunni Caliphate.

Turkey, having the largest army in Europe and with an unpredictable and deceptive leader, can pose an even greater danger than Iran to Europe and the West. Once again it is the poor perception of Western advisers that is responsible the creation of this threat.
