Democracy and Islam - Incompatible by definition!!!

Reader comment on item: Islam and Democracy - Much Hard Work Needed

Islam and democracy (as we know) are incompatible by definition!!!

No use pretending that Muslim countries can be democratic. Examples of such Muslim democracies are Pakistan and Iran. Are these the examples of democracies in Muslim world where the killings of Christians, Hindus, Bahais, and other non-Muslims and gays continue almost on a daily basis!!! One cannot cite Malaysia and Indonesia either, the so called Muslim democracies in the east - we see daily how the minority Christians, Hindus and Buddhists are attacked and their places of worship destroyed in both Indonesia and Malaysia and the governments don't care to uphold the rights of minorities!!! And in the two other Islamic countries, Iraq and Afghanistan where we are trying to bring democracies, murders and intimidation of Christians continues everyday!!!

So much for democracies in Muslim world!!

Let's just forget about the fake democracy business for Muslim countries and let them be what they really want - a sharia inspired theocracies masquerading as democracies!!
