america only favours itself, yet doesnt support its people

Reader comment on item: Why a Non-American Should Promote American Interests

Submitted by uzair (Pakistan), Jan 13, 2011 at 05:27

you say "American leaders have shown an enlightened self-interest without parallel in history." thats exactly why ppl shudnt support American interests. usa works only to favour itself, even if it benefits others, it benefits itself more financially and/or politically, so effectively does other countries no good. supplying fake, nonexistent money to third world countries for economic growth which benefits only the capaitalists n politicians dus not do that nation as a whole any good, except bring abt social inequality, inflaltion, etc as in apparent from the state of countries like afghanistan n pakistan. also, this notion of democracy n its benefits is media propaganda. democracy an official name for popularity contest. regardless of aptitude n tru intentions of politicians, the 1 with the most votes wins.

america needs to solve its own probs 1st b4 meddling into international affairs. its internal debt is spiralling wayyyy out of control, its poverty has increased to 1 out of 7 in 09, yet somehow sales of Rolls Royce pick up in 2010 in usa. very nice.

i dont blame the west for everything, that is unfair, but watever is wrong/unjust whether east or west, governmental or micro level, i oppose. reading books like confessions of an economic hitman and watching the zietgeist series has rly opened my mind up to the true global threat faced today.
