Anti Islam, what anti islam do you mean

Reader comment on item: Censor Anti-Islamic Books?

As a sailor in the UK Royal Navy, in the many weeks we spent at sea, I studied a variety of religious texts, including the Koran and Christian bible.

My personal philosophy is now Freemasonry, an organisation I have been a member of for over 5 yrs.and which has proved itself to me to be the residence of free thinking intelligent caring men, a true brotherhood without fear or favour.

I doubt if anyone is actually anti islamic, the silent majority are anti terrorism, for which fundamentalist islamists are responsible. Nothing in the Koran has suggested that blowing oneself up, or others is going to spread the cause of what is essentially a peaceful and tolerant dogma.

By not seeking out the evil ones in their own communities and allowing the preachers of hate to abide, Islam as a religion and muslims as people give free rein to the extremists and idiots on both sides of the religious fence.

If you know an islamic preacher is preaching violence and discord, send his details to the police authorities, if you have prior knowledge of some misguide idiot wanting to blow himself and others to bits, tell the authorities.

Muslims need to get with the program and disassociate themselves from the preachers of hate and remove them from their community and give no succor to such violent men and women.

We all live on the same planet, we all need to get along, enjoy our similarities and celebrate our differences. not commit indiscriminate murder in the name of Islam
