bin Laden Seeks to Influence ElectionReader comment on item: 9/10 vs. 9/12 on 11/2 Submitted by John (United States), Oct 30, 2004 at 13:59 There exists a state of war between the US and Al-Qaeda. Yesterday a video was released by bin Laden attacking George Bush. Clearly, they hope that Bush will lose the election so that they can claim another victory like Madrid.Their strategy is clear. To initimidate moderate Muslims in the Middle East and to appeal to the sensibilities of the western "anti-war" movement. In chat groups I have come across many people who have seized upon bin Laden's video to taunt me. They quote his words and think it is funny. They say they are anti-war, but they leave me with the impression that they are pro-war when it is against the US or Israel. There is a sickness in their minds. I will not be intimidated by bin Laden or my own fellow countrymen... Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
