Israel is Not a Phenomenon - But a Certain Biblical Reality

Reader comment on item: Israel and Congressional Democrats
in response to reader comment: Trend or Temporary Phenomenon

A tool of politics, the use of polls to gauge trends, has a tendency to be used for advantage for political gain; and the polls referred to here are evidence that the observation here is, unfortunately, correct. While there is still a considerable amount of support for preserving the safety and integrity of Israel by individuals and certain groups in America, such support has always been considered conditional in many respects, and marginal at best in the view of the pro-Arabist mentality that seems to pervade the American State Department bureaucracy.

In the latest round of negotiations between Israel and the entities that appear to want a 'solution' to the Middle East situation Israel finds herself in, the continuing process of gaining concessions at Israel's expense are a direct result of the aforementioned shift in the policies now in place by the current American Administration. In the former presidential politics of a republican presidency, a 'two state' solution was sought after under the mistaken premise that providing 'Palestinians' a place by sectoring out portions of Israel would ameliorate the humanitarian condition of the 'Palestinians' who are under the control of the Hamas and other Islamist organizations. As we can see, even when Gaza was ceded, the loss of Israeli control allowed the 'Palestinian' condition to deteriorate under the 'Palestinian Authority, which turned out to be ineffective, then to fall under Hamas control for even a worse fate.

Under the forming socialist influence of the current American Administration, it is clearly a situation that for certain liberal mentalities, those ideologies pushing for their form of Middle East concord are unwilling to concede that the failed concepts of a socialist democracy in an oriental environment will not work: that further, forcing Israel to reformulate under the pressures of the onslaught by her enemies will not bring the peace they erroneously think would follow. In the final analysis, the enemies of Israel are not looking for minor concessions from Israel; nor do they seek a peace with Israel either. This cannot be so subliminal that even an avowed liberal politician in American is not able to see it; yet that is exactly what appears to be happening for some. Yet, are we seeing a trend change, or it is a progression that has been happening all along?

From the very start, the rebirth of Israel as a nation in these modern times presented to the world the furtherance of the instigations of antipathy by the surrounding Arab populations who desired to keep the Jewish presence at a minimum, only to find that a European society with traces of remorse for the tragic dealings of a decimated Jewish population needed to find someplace to put the displaced remnant survivors. Much to the dismay and anger of the Arab community, who thought they had cornered the market on the Middle Eastern land, found an overwhelming political convenience to place the people of Jacob in their ancestral homeland to be too much. Whatever objections they held against the Jewish people before, they were now dwarfed under the pressure of a world wanting to put the Jewish people someplace, just not in their own backyards.

This was not the result of a trend, nor was it the intention of the progressive mentality to solve a social issue. It ended up being the expediency of a process that was long in coming, but inevitable from both a political perspective and, for those who understand, a religious consummation of unfolding history. It was meant to happen.

Now in the current context, the mindset of those who have limited view of how Israel should be more conformed to the world's view of her place in the global community is at a crossroads. First, it must be faced that in spite of all the odds and the actions of Israel's enemies and antagonists (liberal/progressives in the American legislature), Israel does not follow the polls of American politics, nor is there a trend that can be defined in which one might see which outcome can be achieved if one tact or another is taken. Israel is not following a course formed by human reasoning, so humanist logic to forge a democratically idealistic secular state of the Jewish people is not going to work.

Further, a process of self-determination by the Israeli government will fall on hard times as well, and it will become evident that Israel will, of a necessity, fall back to her roots, to seek the Eternal Sovereign of her destiny. Once that comes into full force, then all the world will come to the realization that this should have been the source of political motivation all along, something the congressional democrats in America ceased to understand a long time ago.
