The same old nonsense from a so called moderate Muslim and in this case Akbar Ahmed

Dr. Pipes

I just watched Akbar Ahmed on CSPAN where he was presenting his new book "journey into America" and here are some of his unfounded assertions

1. he told the audience that there are 7M Muslims in the US! Wrong! and as per the Pew report it is far less than his 7M bogus number and shame on him for saying that

2. then he tells us that 75% of converts to islam that are white are women! I still have to see the evidence and i believe that it is wrong.

3. Islam is the fastest growing religion in the US! Wrong again as a matter of fact in terms of absolute numbers Christianity is the fastest growing religion in the US and in terms of percentages Hinduism (the religion of his ancestors) and Buddhism and even native American religion and Wiccan are far ahead of islam so he is wrong again and how come he did not know that?

And as a matter of fact the growth in the number of Muslims in the Us is from immigration and from the fact that Muslim families tend to be young and large and how come he did not know that?and i suspect that if immigration is closed to Muslims we will have a negative growth in the number of Muslims in the US

4. He also does not tell us that it seems that 75% of converts to Islam leave islam! and how come he did not know that?

5. He some how believe that there really are no doctrines in Islam or the Qur'an that tell Muslims to committ acts of terrorism and that tolernace is a great feature of islam! Wrong again and how about the Dhimmis or the 90M of his ancestors that were killed by Muslims in India

6. As For Faisal Shazad (sp?) the Times Square bomber Ahmed tells us that he was quoting not the qur'an or the hadith but something about the problems of the tribal areas of Pakistanis and therefore islam cannot be blamed for his criminal acts

6. Last: He tells us that islam is the best thing that happened to the US since sliced bread was invented

Yeah right

I can understand if a lost tablighee tells us this nonsense but a professor at American University is saying that? It is just amazing and sickening but again if islam is to really change then Mulsims have to dig in their books and expunge all the hate and violence but before this they have to acknowledge that there are doctrines in islamic theology that encourage Muslims to be violent but we should not expect to hear this from this demagogue Akbar Ahmed
