If you do genuinely want to understand, then the easiest way would simply be look over the border. You say you've seen the damages done by Hamas rockets in Israel, well just look over the border and see the scale of damage there.

Look up the death tolls from Hamas rockets and from the IDF in Gaza and compare them.

Look up why Hamas are sending these rockets, think about what you would do trapped in a city without enough food, medical supplies, electric, gas or water, for 1 night. Then think about 3 years.

I've thought especially about the last one alot, and the only answer I can think of, is I'd keep hoping and wishing and praying that the world wouldn't just carry on standing by while this happened. Oppression can only survive through silence, ...
