Working for the enemy

Reader comment on item: Dr. Daniel Pipes of the Middle East Forum discusses the reluctance of the media to call Islamic perpetrators of terror "

Submitted by Peter Edgar, Australia (Australia), Sep 23, 2004 at 00:11

Yes, I agree. It seems to me that a good proportion of the media is actually 'working for the enemy', or, at the very least, working against the kind of USA represented by your excellent President George Bush.

But this goes back a long way. Read 'We were Soldiers Once, and Young'. The US soldiers won a fine victory but it was written up as a defeat. One of those journalists turned up in Baghdad in the first Gulf War reporting from the other side.

Likewise, the Tet Offensive was a military disaster for the communists but it was turned into a political defeat for the US.

Surely the butchers in Baghdad have learned something from all this. Has the US forgotten what it achieved at Normandy and in the months that followed? (I know that the French have).
