New Passports with EU Identities

Reader comment on item: Crisis in Turkey

Submitted by Lotus (United Kingdom), Mar 22, 2010 at 18:14

While I was in Greece I met an Iraq who was an illegal immigrant. He had travelled through Turkey to get to Greece. He showed me his papers given to him by the police and he told me he was waiting for a new passport with a new identity in either French or Italian, he didn't mind which. The night I met him he was also with what he called a "Philestine" e.g. Palestinian. He was a happy soul and hoped to move to another part of Europe once he had a European passport to do so. Its getting to the point that you won't know what nationality people are when they can purchase new identities in corrupt countries. God help us all
