I am sorry to hear about what has happened to you - unfortunately it is still happening and will continue to happen as long as women 'fall' for these men and give them money and/or visas/green cards. The rewards for them are too great.

The same happened to me with a Tunisian man, who has since married a German and now lives there. I was lucky to escape with just the debt and a divorce, as he never got to be able to come to the UK (his aim) ha ha ha .

I first met him five years ago to the week and am now out of debt, five years on to the week - I am so lucky, and thankful to my Mother for supporting me through it.

You will get over it - because if you don't he is still controlling you and making you unhappy.

Also,don't be afraid of detering others from following the same path. They may not like it or won't want to listen, but never do nothing - it may save one person from the same fate.
