If so then it made it to dictionaries and it is a noun that means an orthodox Muslim or a scholar in Islamic studies and for this see

For the readers the Arabic word for islamist is Islami and you will find it in HW dictionary page 426A as well as in Lisan al-3Arab so your claim is bogus
