Islam is not the spawn of the Jews and Christians. Had that been so, they were negating their own teachings and making themselves obsolete and putting themselves out of business.

Mohammad used the teachings of the Jews and Christians to make them see that converting to Islam is the natural progression of religion. One could say he used them as a marketing device. Luckily it did not work. His later teachings pretty much separated Islam from Christianity and Judaism.

Mohammad died in Medina and made a trip to Mecca before going to Jerusalem. That is too much traveling for a dead man. This is in addition to what you wrote about.
