For NewReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Zella (United States), Feb 1, 2010 at 23:20 You are an educated woman and having worked as a Parole and Probation Officer means that you have worked with quite a few sociopaths. You know that sociopaths have no conscience and they will use every trick in the book to get what they want. While I certainly don't know the man who you are involved with, I can tell you that his wanting to go to school and buy a restaurant are red flags. His first goal should be to acquire a job so he can support you. What he is actually saying is that he expects to be supported by you while he chases his elusive dreams and does exactly what he wants to do. He knows that you are employed in a professional capacity and that's all he needs to know. Now, if you really want to test the waters, tell him exactly what you expect. This includes the fact that he must work and support you. Tell him that he will be expected to help you clean, cook, wash the car, etc. Also, don't be eager to marry him. Tell him that you need at least one year to see how the relationship is going to work out. If this man had his act together, he wouldn't be spending his free time on a social network. I'm curious to know his native country. You say you've met some of his family, right? You might think they approve of you but just remember that everything that glitters isn't gold. Take good care of yourself and be very careful. Do not let this man mistreat you. You don't deserve it. Also, do not let him know that you own any property.
